Cathi Rhodes and Diane Paul met in 2003 during their performance in the musical "The Taffetas", a 1950's-style stage play for The Valley Players of Ligonier. Their friendship blossomed as the ladies instantly recognized a parallel in the music they enjoyed.

Opportunities to sing together arose through many venues, including fund raisers at the theater, performances at local country clubs, holiday shows, class reunions, private parties, church groups, chamber of commerce, and major performance halls.

Cathi and Diane chose the name Glitzando, a play on the musical term glissando, to describe their unique style gently sliding their vocals from one note to another. Although each is featured in solo work during their performances, the two voices blend in sweet harmony on tunes very much enjoyed by their audiences. Diane is blessed with a smooth, jazzy style, while Cathi's voice is best suited to ballads.

Cathi, a South Greensburg native, has enjoyed nearly 80 stage productions since 1979. She most recently directed shows for The Valley Players, including Route 66 and Always...Patsy Cline, in which she also starred as the late singer. Both shows played to sold-out houses and, by popular, demand, will return to the stage in 2007.

Diane grew up in Johnstown as was "bitten" early in life by the performance bug. She developed her love of standard tunes by listening to the music her parents played. Diane has always been attracted to singing harmony, hearing it as her 'melody'. She recently performed in Route 66 for the Valley Players of Ligonier, plus numerous theatrical roductions in area theaters as director, actress, singer and dancer.
Bandgirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00113786020412025932noreply@blogger.com0
